TGJ2O Blog Assignment – Ms. Vercruyssen
Blogging: Many blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, Web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability of readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art, photography or music. Most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments and even message each other via widgets on the blogs and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.
For the next week, you will be learning how to create your own blog. There will be demonstrations in class. There will be creative freedom in your design. The idea is that you will create a blog that you will make additions to and use for the rest of the school year. This is also a fabulous opportunity to learn from one another!
Criteria of the Project
· Use Blogger to create a blog.
· Have a profile that reflects you but does not give out too much personal information - please include a photo in your portfolio.
· Customize the look of the pages so that they reflect you and follow design principles.
o Consistency in colour, appropriate fonts, readability
· Add at least three gadgets
· Add at least one video
· Add at least 3 of your own photos
· Make at least 3 blog entries - these need to be text... write about something that will draw interest from others - you need to
· Add a poll question on a topic of your choice
· Comment on 2 other student’s blog

Submission
You will be required to submit the URL for your blog to Ms. Vercruyssen for evaluation. You can either email the URL, add me as a follower so I can click on it or submit it on a scrap piece of paper.
